Day 14 - La Bomba

November 27 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

We went for a run, stopping at a panaderia on the way back - I choose quite the smattering of flaky pastries to pair with my coffee.  We got back and made eggs and enjoyed the pastries.

We knew we would be spending the next week or so in the woods, so washing clothes before this was pretty essential.  We booked this airbnb for several reasons, and one was the washer/dryer.  Unfortunately we didn't realize this was shared for the apartment building, so Evan went up and down the seven floors, watching like a hawk for the washer to open up.

In Buenos Aires, there is a "party" pretty much every night of the week.  On Mondays, it is at a show called La Bomba Del Tiempo.  Hannah also recommended this.  We weren't far from the venue, so we walked and picked up tickets for the show later in the evening, then hurried back to make dinner before the show.

We made a delicious dinner, washed down with a shared beer.

We headed back for the show and found out quickly why someone we had met described it as "beer-filled".  Outside the venue, a line was formed at the entrance, and it was surrounded by people - random people - selling cans of beer to those waiting.  Most people in line had a beer in hand and the average age was probably 24.  We entered the venue and found a space to enjoy the show.  In short order, the band rushed the stage.  As if it were signaled, the air around us filled with smoke as everyone lit their cigs.

The drumming was fun and dancing was a bit irresistible.  A few other musicians joined and left the stage, a vocalists, saxophone, etc.  All in all, a good experience!  Although we couldn't quite fathom how it was so packed for an event every Monday.
