Day 85 - Dance your heart out

February 8 - Sucre, Bolivia

Since we were a day early, the lessons we had planned on were full so we had a free day.  No complaints here!

We went for a run in the rain, scoping out some of the different parks.  The parks were beautiful - well kept and green, with oodles of benches for relaxing, and views of colonial building.  Sucre is called the "white city" because of it's many large white buildings.  We ended our run at a cafe near the plaza and had a coffee and carrot bread.  The coffee was real coffee, and I also bought coffee beans from them.  Pretty excited!

It was the beginning of Carnival and the owner of our house hinted that we should check out the market.  We arrived at the market and it appeared the same as the day before - no sign of celebration.  We nosed around and went deeper - inside there was a party and dancing happening!  The dancing was really fun. When we arrived, there were four guys and four girls performing a choreographed dance.  Then it was free dance, and as people danced, people poured them shots...

Evan also bought a fresh juice from his new friend.
